HARPER ANN is!!!

Yesterday was Harper’s 1st birthday and party.  For her birthday I made her this shirt to open and tell all our family that we’re having another baby.  Everyone was shocked and we got it all on video.  It is truly priceless.  It was a really fun and great day.  Happy Birthday Harper!

For A Duck Hunting Dad March 29, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — lkelley @ 12:29 pm

This is my most recent custom order for a little baby boy who hasn’t arrived yet.  His dad is a duck hunter so Kelly and Daniel, good friends of the mom and dad-to-be, wanted a camo duck to adorn a sweet little onesie and burpcloth.  It was a little challenging trying to make a camo duck baby, mom and dad friendly.  I wanted everyone to love it.  This was the final decision.  I hope the mom and mostly the soon-to-be-DAD love it.  Thanks for your business Kelly and Daniel!!

Spring Flowers Onesie March 19, 2008

This is a new onesie I completed yesterday. I really think it turned out cute. I found these great giant buttons and had been dying to use them. I thought they would make great flowers. I also used rick-rack and ribbon for the stems and then different fabrics for leaves. I love how colorful and bright this is. Perfect for our up and coming spring season.

Summer Seahorse March 17, 2008

First let me start this post off with a children’s book recommendation – Mr. Seahorse by Eric Carle.  We have checked this out at the library and it’s so good.  Harper doesn’t have this book, but maybe she will get it for her birthday.  It’s all about how the mommy seahorse lays her eggs in the daddy seahorse’s “pocket” and he carries the babies until birth.  It also tells the story of other aquatic daddys that carry or protect their babies as well.  It’s so sweet.

Onto the original post.  Today I finished another summer shirt for Harper and it was inspired by Mr. Seahorse.  A cute, fun and colorful seahorse with shades of blue bubbles.  I know Harper will like it and wear it well.

Harper’s H and Butterfly Onesies March 16, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — lkelley @ 3:20 am

First of all, sometimes I really do not like my computer or maybe just the Internet or my Internet connection.  It can just be really frustrating when you are wanting to get something done, like a new post.  Anyway….

Tonight I finished two new onesies for Harper’s summer wardrobe. The first one I stitched a H with several different fabrics and then sewed it onto a pink onesie. I think it turned out pretty cute. Also, I can’t wait to wash it because I think it will look even cuter when the edges fray a little.

The second onesie has a big butterfly using six different fabrics.  I love how bright it is.  I stitched little antenna’s with bright green buttons at the end.  I also can’t wait for this one to fray as well.

Let me know if your little one needs a shirt with their initial on it or something cute for summer.

Easter Shirt for Anslee March 14, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — lkelley @ 3:18 pm

One of my good friends Tracy called me the other day and asked if I wouldn’t mind making her daughter Anslee an Easter shirt.  Of course I wouldn’t mind, Anslee is one of Harper’s big buddies.  All Tracy wanted was a cross on one of the pink and white striped tees.  Very simple and sweet.  I finished the shirt this morning and even more impressive is I finished it with Harper in my lap.  She was a little grumpy this morning.   Anyway I know Anslee will be too cute in this on Easter.

For The Nephews March 14, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — lkelley @ 3:55 am

I previously posted about what I made for my little nieces for Easter, but now wanted to share what I made Cooper and Jack, my nephews.  I finished up both of their shirts today.  Cooper is really into Guitar Hero so a cool, rockin’ guiter shirt was totally appropriate.  Jack is still just an itty bitty, so his shirt is sporting a cute little whale for the summer.  I hope they like them and I can’t wait to give them to them next Saturday.

Weenie Dogs For Easter March 13, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — lkelley @ 3:39 am

Every holiday Josh and I give out nieces and nephews a little something special to celebrate the holiday. Well Easter being right around the corner I had not yet decided what to get all the kiddos. I’m very tired of treat bags full of candy, so I have been trying to think outside the box. Today it hit me. A while back I saw this idea on Etsy and absolutely LOVED it, being a lover of the dodson dog myself. So today I decided to give it a try and it turned out pretty well. So Campbell, McKinley, Lyla and Harper are receiving sweet little pink and white striped tees adorned with a long dodson dog that starts on the front and ends on the back. Too cute!

Cupcake and Crossbones March 10, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — lkelley @ 3:46 pm

I know I’ve mentioned this before, but Harper will be turning ONE in just 3 short weeks and we are having a cupcake birthday party.  So I just had to share my recent creation for her birthday party.  I’ve also mentioned that I am painting plates for all the little ones possibly coming to her party, but I was stumped on the boys plates.  I wanted to stick with the cupcake theme, but wanted it to be somewhat boyish.  My little cousin Grant inspired me with his love of pirates and from there it was a piece of cake or should I say cupcake.  I knew Grant would love for his plate to have crossbones behind his manly cupcake and Cooper is really into the whole skater scene so I knew crossbones would work for him too.  Garrett and Jack, I figured are just too little to really care.  So cupcake and crossbones it was for all the boys.  Check them out.  Also I am entertaining the idea of possibly trying to sell painted plates.  Would anyone out there be interested?

Harper’s Turtle March 10, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — lkelley @ 12:20 am

I recently bought a pack of cute onesies for Harper’s summer wardrobe, but thought they were a little plain.  So I am slowly, but surely adding  a little something to each of them.  Today I finished a little girly turtle for her.  She even wore it and broke it in with some carrots on the bottom half and some dirt on the sleeve.  I thought it turned out pretty cute.  Let me know if I can make a sweet little boy or girl turtle for your little one.
