Today marks 16 months on the wait list for our next little dude. Every month I try my best to be glad and happy and rainbows and unicorns that yes, we are in fact another month closer, but I’m just not down with it today. The truth is I am super tired of waiting…like is the end even in sight? Surely it’s got to be. So I don’t have any words of wisdom or gracious remarks…I just want my son home or throw me a bone & just let me see that sweet face 🙂
Do I know that my boy is right where God wants him? Yep. Is God’s timing perfect? Uh-huh. Is God preparing our son’s heart for us and our hearts for him? Sure thing. Does the waiting still completely suck sometimes? Yes, yes and triple yes.
So without further ado and with zero rainbows or unicorns this month 🙂 …this months giveaway is a 11×14 canvas with, “He is making things new.”
I just really like those words…He. Is. Making. Things. New. He’s got this under control & He is making some amazingly, beautiful things out of what I view as hopeless & grief filled & just overwhelmingly hard for my heart in general.
He. Is. Making. Things. New.
That is good stuff. Stuff to be trusted.
So here’s how you enter to win:
Please leave a separate comment on this post for each entry.
Entry #1 Leave a comment…any ole’ comment will do.
Entry #2 Leave a comment about how you see or anticipate God making some things new in your life or lives around you.
Entry #3 Share the giveaway on your Facebook status.
Entry #4 Share the giveaway on your Twitter status.
Again, please leave a separate comment on this post for each entry.
Giveaway will end Monday, March 19th at midnight and I will announce the winner on Tuesday.
And of course, if you are the winner, we will mail your canvas directly to you.
Now I’m off to eat some probably not-so-healthy snacks and watch some hopefully funny NBC. Check ya’ later 16 months and bring on my boy!
I love that God is making things new and He’s making them beautiful!
I’m right there with you today…no rainbows, no unicorns. But God is still good. And I still have more blessings than I can count. Here’s to God working great things in our lives!
Sweet.

We are so excited about Him helping us in our search for a new home!!!

I love this song and art!
Hey Laura,
My comment is: I am curious to know what is going on with the adoption process? Have you had contact with your case workers, any reason for the hold up? I know sometimes it can be the country slowing things down or just the process moving along slowly. I am just curious, I’ll keep praying for your son and you guys as you wait. Love you.
God is an amazing God and he is going to bring that sweet face to you all soon. I can just feel it!
I see God making my sister new. With a baby on the way I see that the Lord will show her how she needs him in her life.
Just tweeted!!!
I teach school and some of my days are not so beautiful! But the song that God keep putting in my head is “In HIS time” HE makes all things beautiful in His time! Such an awesome song and oh so true!
June
God has been changing me from the inside out. I’m so excited about starting a few new things with my family- gardening, composting, cooking more, and spending less. I would love some of your artwork in my house.
Love this piece!
Such a beautiful piece and a reminder of such great truth!
I see God making things new in my life as he has worked in my heart (and my hubby’s) since about 2 and a half years ago when we started our own adoption journey. We said we will “never” do foster care. Through a series of circumstances, we have been lead to foster care. We are currently waiting for our first placement.
God is definitely in the process of refining my desires to be just for him, aligning my will with his and meeting my needs in ways that are vastly different than what I thought. He is making me new.

Love your work. The wait will be worth it.
We are in the “waiting game’ as well with our adoption. I eagerly await your new art to see what phrases or sayings you’ve come up with that will help me in the waiting as well. Thank you so much for encouragement and joy through your art and posts.
Entry #2….
I see change comin…. I just wish it was sooner than later 😉 There are two phases to this change. First it is the change that will come by adding child #3 to our family. By welcoming our little filipino lovely to our family, my heart, my sons hearts and my husbands heart will be changed forever-for the better.
Secondly, the process of waiting is also changing us. God is using this time to work on our hearts and teach us so much. I can so relate to you. The waiting sucks, but the changes it is making in our lives will make it so worth it in the end.
God is in control!!! Praying for your heart as you wait.
Happy thursday! 🙂
Praying for your family and hoping the day you wish for comes as soon as possible!
Would love to win this piece…
God fills my life with constant change 🙂 I just need to be flexible enough to catch glimpses of the beauty in that…
love this
I know God has big plans for me, I just wish I knew what they were! I’m 25 here, and feel I have little guidance in my life. Just trying to trust him and believe that he will lead me to the right path.

Beautiful work… God is making things new in my relationship
oh wow I love this!!!! hang in there girl, waiting does stink, but you know He is in control!!!
“And He who sits on the throne said, ‘Behold, I am making all things new.’ And He said, ‘Write, for these words are faithful and true.'” Rev 21: 5
Even though they’re difficult, I’m thankful for the trials the Lord puts in my life, because it is these that God uses to make things new in my heart. Currently we are having to make tough decisions regarding finances, the house, etc. as I now stay home with the kiddo rather than working. This process has revealed some idols in my heart that the Lord is knocking down and replacing them with more Christ-likeness.

I LOVE this canvas! It reminds me of the song “Beautiful Things” by Gungor- which I also love! Praying for you and your sweet family to be united soon!
I like it. Hope it’s mine 🙂 .
God is ready to make things new in your life and your son’s life too!
I love all your pieces. Sorry that this one comes with so much sadness. 😦
I love God’s timing even when it is not our timing!
Spring hit hard where we live this week, so of course that feels like God is making everything new. But also my family is still trying to find the new normal after my nephew died last fall. God really is making us new through that. Plus we are waiting to be matched with our child from India and we anticipate yet another new normal from that. It feels like everything is new these days!
I anxiously wait on God for his timing in life in general. From jobs, marriage, family ect. 🙂
This is beautiful!
This statement and the verse it is derived from has been such an encouragement to me since my dad’s death a couple of years ago…reminding me that grief will only last for a moment, but the joy of the Lord will follow!
We’re waiting too and it’s no fun. HMMMPH!
I love this. Hoping you hear news/see his face SOON!
I would love to give this to my sister-in-law and my brother, they are awaiting the arrival of conjoined twins. Who won’t live long after their birth, unless God does a miracle. I know they have a long road ahead and this would be a great reminder because I know He is faithful and He WILL make all things new!!!

I love this–beautiful!
Another beautiful piece…I absolutely love it
I am ready for you NOT to be doing the “waiting” give aways!! I want you to get that “nod” – yes, we have a boy – just for you. and YEs his heart is ready and your heart is ready!!
God has always done a good job of making things new in my life…even when I’m not sure I understand the reasons
I shared the giveaway on my facebook page
This new “give away” verse though was just for me. This morning – my sins were just so out there – so overwhelming! Confession was my whole time in the Word – so when I saw this verse – or at least this promise . . . I said = oh God you have heard my heart – I’m so encouraged again – just with this! Thanks
Praying for you as you wait these last bits of time until you can see his face! Adoption has certainly changed a great deal from our firsts, huh? In 2009, once on the waiting list, waited a “simple” 3 months. I say simple in comparison to the whole new waiting game that Ethiopian adoption is now. But those 3 months were still hard to wait. 🙂 16 months down for you, hopefully no more to go!!
God is making things new in our family as we get started on our second adoption!! Neck deep in the home study process/paper-gathering now! Cannot wait to see how His story unfolds again in our family!
Love this print! Praying God will make things new in my life again!
Love this piece.
His promises never fail.

Praying God allows me to be with my friend in Uganda when she gets to go and get her son. With God, all things are possible.
Love the waiting giveaway…I agree and think it is a great saying!
beautiful work as always!
we are waiting for a child as well. his arrival will definitely be new for our family… and definitely beautiful.
I am so anticipating the new things that God is going to reveal to our church! I can feel that good things are coming and I can’t wait to see how awesome it’s going to be!
Shared your giveaway on Facebook! Praying this is the last month you are waiting!
I have always loved your artwork! It is original and God inspired. Thank you for sharing it with us.
when you repeat the scriptures over and over…and pray with every ounce of your being and there is no result you can get so discouraged…and you get up and go again ..with hope and expectation….God knows you are weary and frustrated some days…Then he gives you a tiny mustard seed of faith and hope …it can be found in the silliest places and at the strangest times..I pray for many many mustard seeds to fall your way..pray you can rest in Him…and enjoy the journey. In the song Blessings the lyrics bring me to tears to realize how even in the toughest times we are still being watered and pruned for the Blessings..
Hugs…oh I love the print I am in the pot
Lisa
holy buckeroos, your honestly is always a ray of sunshine. Ironic, huh? (#1)
Beautiful. Hope this is the month for you!!
beautiful work as always! praying that your child is coming to you this month!

I LOVE THIS! Would be thrilled to win & finally own one of your pieces! 🙂
Oh man, God is totally making something new in my friendships! It seems He is pruning some away while bringing other friends into my life! It’s been hard to see friendships end but I know it is for His glory! He is making NEW friendships! Ones that are glorifying to him. It’s exciting stuff!
I am facing a major surgery on the 5th of April and this was just what I needed to see/hear! It’s so scary to face surgery and so easy to lose focus and let all the negative, yucky thoughts take over. Thank you for this and helping me get back on the path. 🙂 Praying for you and your family which includes your sweet little boy. Praying that is will be your last giveaway of this kind. Thank you for sharing your beautiful talents with us.
Love this!

God gives me hope in the fact that He is a God of redemption, restoration, and renewal. We get to see glimpses of that at times, but how cool will it be in eternity when ALL things are made new?! When I’m reminded of the brokenness of the world, I try to cling to who He is and long for His return even more.

Love this….so very true!
Even your daily blog entries that dont include rainbows and glitter still inspire me! I look forward to your blog daily! I hope this is the last waiting give away you’ll have to do. 🙂
God makes things new everyday…i have to stop sometimes and realize that every now and then. He is good!
In God’s time, we, too, are going to adopt a child. We’re going through the state’s (CPS) foster-to-adopt program. His timing is always perfect. 🙂
Such a lovely piece!! Praying you will see your son’s sweet face really soon!
Stopped to pray for your son right now, along with your heart while you wait.
Going through a difficult divorce…but beginning to see glimples of God making all things new in my life. So grateful.

I love this artwork!! The saying is very fitting for my family! God is making things new in my family through some trials we have faced with my son. God is SO good and He is always by our side…..making things new!!
Love this piece and the song! Such a great reminder!
Things have kind of been crazy in my church life lately, including unbelievable massive change, moving on and trying to find a new place to worship corporately. In this, I have seen that He is making all things new, even if it doesn’t make sense to me or seem fair or right. Everything is being made the way it is for my good. The change that I think is yucky is a blessing waiting to blossom in to something NEW! Thanks a lot!

Praying this will be your last piece for waiting!!!!! But not your last piece ever, because they are amazing.
God is making new things in my life. We got a new placement yesterday! A 20 month old daughter! We’re thrilled!

I love how God is working to make our foster son’s life new while he lives with us! And hopefully for his parents during this time he is with us too!
Waiting is the pits! I know you are tired of hearing all the words like “be patient” etc. so I won’t offer any.
Just know people everywhere are hoping for you and your family.
I love your artwork!
Love this one Laura!

Love it! Will you post to the uk?
God is making things new in my life by putting me at the right uni, finding me and church, a cell group, and christian friends! It’s been amazing!
I am also waiting for my daughter’s boyfriend to believe and receive our Lord, Jesus Christ. I know that God is working on his heart and will make it new, in His own time.
Lovely canvas & much needed read. Life isn’t perfect and does tend to have a component of suckitude about it, but I love how you channel it & focus to make something completely beautiful out of the suck. ;). Even if you don’t feel like it, YOU are an inspiration!
Hang in there! Though it is hard, all good things are worth waiting for. Your strength is inspiring!
God is always making things new, always putting us out of our comfort zone, always pushing us to be better in him, always refining who we are, to mold us into who we should be for Him, always, always, always… Thank God for His insight into our humanity. We’d be more than lost without Him… Can you imagine? My prayer for everyone, including myself, is that we all graciously accept the new and become what God intends for us to be. 🙂
My husband and I have had a very tough year dealing with our troubled teenage daughter. But I know God is making things new by strengthening my spiritual life to its strongest, even as my physical self feels exhausted. I am taking a class, my husband and I are starting a small group, and I have never felt stronger. That is not me, that is God, and I am grateful for the new beginnings.
The waiting in adoption is the worst! Praying for you and your family!!
I see things new as Spring returns. Also things are changing in our lives as we see healing from cancer & our children changing & growing. Praying you get to see your sweet son soon.
You’re are is a true inspiration of what a gift God has given you. I really like this piece.

God is making things new in my life through prayer! Never been very diligent about praying (I just get so distracted), but I have seen God work when I am intentional in bringing things to Him!
This is beautiful! Love it!
Beautiful words – beautiful piece of artwork!
Each day is a NEW day, and God says Trust ME one day at a time!
I anticipate God making some things new in my life by providing a sweet blessing come May – a baby girl!
You continue to be a constant encouragement to me… loving reading your blog!
God continues to change my attitude and the attitudes of those around me… which in turn makes my whole life, and perspective on it, new. 🙂
Love this. The words make me quite happy!
He makes me new through motherhood every day. As my kiddos are still very young, I can see the way God is changing me and making me better. More patience, more kindness, less selfish… He is showing me the true meaning of love and sacrifice though my babies.
Hang in there Laura! Cannot imagine how difficult this waiting must be. In perfect time His plan will be revealed and all this will be a memory 🙂
entry #1 This truth is good for my soul!
I am prayerfully hoping that He is making things New in my marriage…. the waiting has been long and hard… going on 14 years. entry #2

Well my experience was while we were waiting to bring our 2 children home from Ethiopia. It was a long wait with many ups and downs…wondered if the day would come when we would bring them home. (and we did on Thanksgiving Day!!) But God had been preparing their hearts and lives to join our family (making things new) it was amazing and beautiful. God truly knows best and his timing is perfect even when we may doubt it at times.
My kids and I were in a pretty bad car accident 2 weeks ago and I love the reminder this brings! He surely does make all things new!

Praise God that this is His job and not mine! Thankful that I can rest in the completed work of Christ on my behalf and His promise that He is at work in my life and heart to present me complete before Him.
Unicorns and rainbows! 😉
We have been on the waitlist for our boy for three months today…and it really feels like the end isn’t in sight at all. Of course, we trust God’s timing, but it’s hard to imagine what our lives/hearts will be like when we finally bring him home to MS. I’m praying that we won’t share waiting anniversaries much longer…and that you get to see that sweet face SOON!
We’ve seen God make things New in our lives over the past year, and we are so thankful for His sometimes surprising ways. Your blog is one of my very faves!
I love, love, love your ART! You have inspired me to explore my own creativity. Thank you for this gift!! plus, my bday is Tuesday….what an amazing present that would be! 😉
I adore this piece! And your guts girl!
I’ve applied for a job…it looks like a place I would adore teaching…I anticipate God either allowing it to come to fruition or not. He is in control and I am having to give it to Him. Keeping it just makes me go nutso!
As much as I love your waiting art giveaways, I hope this is your last one.
Beautiful as always Laura!

God is changing us and making us new everyday. We are currently waiting to bring our daughters home, our first children. It has been a joy to watch Him change us into parents on His time. Once they come home everything will be new. I’m excited to see what God has in store for us.

So glad to call you friend! Just thought you should know!
Yes, waiting to see what new thing God has planned for us. Waiting to see where the next step in the journey will lead us. God is always faithful and for that I give thanks.
Praise God for making old friendships new again and praise God for my new role as a wife in May!!
I hope this is your last give-away . . . or at least that next month’s give-a-way is celebration one!
My husband will graduate in May and while I was initially against the idea of moving for work, God is opening up my heart to go where He provides. He is doing a new work in my heart!
Always a pleasure to share your work and heart!
In Christ, I am a new creation! The old is gone & the new has come!
What a beautiful work of art!
I LOVE this one, Laura!!! See entry #2 for my reason!!
I never thought in a million years he would make me new by showing me how to die to self more and more as a stay at home mom. I have two degrees, had a career, and an awesome husband. But I am being formed again into a new creature as I see life through my daughter’s eyes.
So perfect for Easter

Having a pretty crummy day, but I know that one bad day doesn’t mean I have a bad life. Some days you just have to put one foot in front of the other and do your best to make it until tomorrow.
I have been praying for months for God to open up an oportunity for me in my career, and it finally came. It will be a long road, but it is so going to be worth it. God’s timing is always right.

God has been doing so much work in our lives. Helping us work things out so I can be at home with our kids and grow my personal business instead of punching the time clock, will be our reality soon instead of just a dream. Also doing lots of work in our hearts and our relationships. I am feeling like an all new wife, mom and most importantly daughter of God 🙂

I LOVE this! I loooove Gungor, and this is beautiful! (:
God is making me new. He is showing me that I do not need to follow others, I need to follow Him. I do not need to look and work for the acceptance of others. I need to rest in the peace of being accepted by the Almighty.
The Facebook status has been updated! (:
And I have tweeted it! (: God bless!
He is making things new as I learn to trust Him and His promises more and more!

Love your artwork! It’s wonderful to see how God inspires other people. :o)
I LOVE your art!
I love your heart! Totally love your honesty as you share your real life joys & hurts, you get what it means to live for the Lord. The letter your precious Harper wrote is amazing! You have done an amazing job teaching your children about what really matters. She is already changing the world:) Your artwork ROCKS too, incredible!
I have wonderful 12 year old twins, and my son has autism. I have seen God do so many beautiful things with my son & daughter, I can’t wait to see what else God has in store!
God is working so much around me right now. He is moving our church into a new building. He is opening new doors for our church and for me personally to minister in the community. He is continuing to renew my love for Him and my satisfaction with Him and the path that He has placed me on.
And I am sharing this on Facebook. 🙂

In my life He is opening up an opportunity for my family to downsize and Godsize what He has for us in our lives. We are planning to think smaller about material things, and I may get to become a “keeper at home” with my 3 littles. He indeed makes all things new 🙂
I love this piece and all of your art work! Would love to win this!
I’m hoping God will make some broken relationships new. I’m trusting that in His timing, He will!

Beautiful piece! Can’t wait to hear that you have your boy!
You are awesome and I love you 🙂
God is bringing me to a new place of change. Of branching out in a ministry and learning how to do new things.
Um, okay, I really, really want to win this! I always love your art and would thrilled to win something. As for God making new things, I have been reading Jen Hatmaker’s book “Seven” and I feel like God is stirring something in me. Iam becoming more aware of what a life of “excess” I am living and how many people in the world live in need while I simply consume what is around me.
Beautiful Piece, but I’m praying these monthly giveaways will soon be a memory and you’ll have your sweet baby boy home.
I will be “retiring” soon and will be devoting more of my time advocating for widows and orphans. Also hoping to open a home business in the future to have portions going toward the day center we help sponsor in Ethiopia. To God be the Glory.
Another beautiful piece! I love that song!
This is beautiful but I’m sorry to see that you made it to 16 months. We’re 10 months behind you in waiting and I hope I can stay as positive as you. Praying we don’t get a 17 month giveaway from you!!
We have quite a fe friends expecting and a two over seas bringing their babies home. I can’t wait to see how God makes new these once-orphan now beloved members of a family.
Shared on facebook. Fingers crossed 🙂
This is beautiful and a message I needed to hear.
Entry 2: recently God has opened my eyes to a concept I had previously never anticipated thinking about again. I feel Him opening my heart to new possibilities.
Hoping that God blesses you and your family in new, unexpected ways!
Entry 2: I’m currently going back to school part-time and have applied for a nursing program. I’m so excited to see the new things that God has planned for my life and the new direction that He is leading me!

Love everything you do!!
Love this, Laura. Praying earnestly for y’all that you will be united with your new wee Kelley very soon.
This canvas brings to mind the scripture from II Corinthians 5:17 that says, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” I am so grateful that we have that assurance in and through the love of Christ.

God is good ALL the time! Each day I am reminded of the simple things in life. I am truly blessed. More so if I ever could win one of your canvasses!
God allows me to see the “new” in my daily life. Right when I think He has thrown me an obstacle, I realize He allowed me the chance of opportunity. What I do with the opportunity is up to me. I can choose to live my life for Jesus or I can let the devil have his way. I choose JESUS!
Love it as always! I hope the next giveaway is a celebration referral giveaway.
I love your sincerity, your honesty, and the simple faith that comes along with that … the trenches aren’t ever pretty but still, life change happens there … and so is the Lord. Love your faith.
Posted on Facebook … just love your art work (& heart). 🙂
I know that I will say this for the rest of my life … but He is making my heart new … each morning.
I LOVE your art work. Just found you today through a friend that shared your give away…excited for you for your journey!
GOD IS ALWAYS MAKING THINGS NEW! Sometimes I choose to not see that…but when I trust in it…it is exciting! I have been hard on myself over the ways I have done or not done things in my life that have lead me to where I am now….and he makes things NEW every morning…every day….in giving me strength to make the changes to be better at this life…whether it be healthier…strengthening my marriage…being a better mom…teacher…whatever it may be. He shares mercy and grace with me…and making me NEW! Love it!

LOVE the creations God has inspired you to make! They are beautiful!
I’m a new mom and stay-at-home mom on top of that! Those are very new things God has done in my life … now I’m looking to spend more time with Him, my son and just learing to prioritize my time better.
I think your pieces just keep getting better and better! I LOVE it!
God is giving me a new, much-needed perspective. He placed some things in my heart years ago, and I am now seeing some required changes occurring for those God-dreams to be fulfilled.

I see God at work on my heart. I have recently started a new class at church that focuses on our hearts, the physical and spiritual. It has really made me think and reflect back on what God has done in my heart and how I limit Him with my negative thinking. He is working on me to change that 🙂
tweet too 🙂
I love when He makes things new! 🙂
I always look forward to seeing what you’ve created but I’m praying this is your last monthly giveaway before you see that sweet face!
God is making things new in me as He continues to reveal to me the areas where I struggle to rely soley on Him. It’s tough and worthwhile.
Amazing song and art piece… Unlikely to win this late in the numbers but worth a shot!
Love your artwork and your inspiration

One immediate way God is changing my family is a new member of the family! My sister is getting married this weekend and we couldn’t be more excited 🙂
I really love and appreciate how you share your life with others – thank you for the encouragement!
God is changing our lives through this waiting time for our child in Ethiopia. Friday is the one-year mark on the wait list. It’s hard some days, but also a sweet time of preparation too. The Lord is good and faithful.
Love it! Wanna win it!
Hope this piece of peace is headed to me!

I love this canvas!
I think God is making things new in a big way in my little family’s life. We are about to join a new church. I am about to graduate and become a teacher, and my husband is about to go back to school. In short, God is making all things new.
